Miguel Altunaga est un chorégraphe, directeur de mouvement et danseur cubano-britannique dont la carrière, riche et variée, s’étend à de grandes compagnies internationales, parmi lesquelles Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, Rambert, Hofesh Shechter Company, Akram Khan Company et Lost Dog. Il a interprété des œuvres saluées par la critique de certains des chorégraphes les plus renommés au monde, se distinguant par sa présence scénique puissante et sa grande polyvalence.

En tant que chorégraphe et directeur de mouvement, Miguel a créé des œuvres pour un large éventail d’organisations et d’institutions, parmi lesquelles : Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, Rambert, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Royal Ballet and Opera, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Simply Red, Acosta Danza et Carlos Acosta and Friends, Elmhurst Ballet School, Artistry Youth Dance, Tate Modern, Equilibrio Dinámico, Phoenix Youth Academy, National Youth Ballet, ArtEZ, Jean-Paul Gaultier (assistant chorégraphe), Codarts, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Josh Arnott Dance (consultant en mouvement), ENBYouthCo, London Studio Centre (INTOTO 2024), Theatre-Rites, Emergence Dance, Lowry CAT, London Vocational Ballet School, Opus Ballet (Pulse Program) et Holland Dance Festival.

Le talent de Miguel a été récompensé par plusieurs distinctions, notamment le prix cubain du Meilleur Solo Masculin en 2002, ainsi que par des nominations aux Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards au Royaume-Uni dans les catégories Meilleure Performance Masculine, Meilleur Danseur et Meilleure Chorégraphie Moderne. Il a également été membre du jury de BBC Young Dancer, contribuant ainsi à accompagner la nouvelle génération de jeunes talents.

Miguel Altunaga is a Cuban-British choreographer, Movement Director and dancer whose dynamic career spans leading international companies, including Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, Rambert, Hofesh Shechter Company, Akram Khan Company, and Lost Dog. He has performed in acclaimed works by some of the world’s most renowned choreographers, earning recognition for his powerful presence and versatility on stage.

As a choreographer and movement director, Miguel has created work for a wide range of organisations, including: Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, Rambert, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Royal Ballet and Opera, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Simply Red, Acosta Danza and Carlos Acosta and friends, Elmhurst Ballet School, Artistry Youth Dance, Tate Modern, Equilibrio Dinámico, Phoenix Youth Academy, National Youth Ballet, ArtEZ, Jean- Paul Gaultier ( Assistant Choreographer), Codarts, Rambert School of
Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Josh Arnott Dance(Movement Consultant ), ENBYouthCo, London Studio Centre (INTOTO 2024), Theatre-Rites, Emergence Dance, Lowry CAT, London Vocational Ballet School, Opus Ballet ( Pulse Program ), and Holland Dance Festival.

Miguel’s talent has been recognised with several accolades, including the Cuban Best Male Solo Award (2002), and nominations at the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards (UK) for Outstanding Male Performance, Best Dancer, and Best Modern Choreography. He has also served as a judge for BBC Young Dancer, supporting the next generation of emerging talent.
